Happy New Year! Now that my head is less cottony and that my delicate tummy is feeling top drawer again, I'm feeling as though 2011 is going to be a GREAT year! In case you were wondering, after New Years was over, I wasn't so sure of that . . . for some reason my head pounded and I had a delicate tummy. I'm sure it had NOTHING to do with the wine, other wobbly beverages and delicious and rich foods that were consumed at our New Years celebration. Ok, well, maybe just a bit was related to that. Ha!

We rang in the New Year with great friends. Great food, great company and fantastic comraderie. The funny part about partying and celebrating now-a-days is that we're getting old, and when you have young children, you realize that you have to get up with those kids in the morning and need to function for them all the next day . . . so, when midnight approaches, you're looking for ANY excuse to go to bed. That's how it was for most of us. We turned on the TV to watch the ceremonial ball drop and welcome the New Year. We topped up our drinks and sat in anticipation of the big moment. The station we were watching went to a commercial break, and when it came back, there were children holding blocks that had numbers. You know - like a countdown. It was very unsensational and seemingly hokey. We all glanced at the clock - you know - the "atomic" plate clock on the wall (LOL!) and noted that NY was just a few moments away. These kids were just giving us a reamble of what was to come in a few short minutes. WRONG!! Suddenly the ball was dropping on the screen. The "atomic" plate clock FAILED us!!! It WAS New Years, and we pretty much missed the darn ball falling. Is that bad luck?! I mean, we HAD the TV on, and we sort of 'saw' it, but didn't REALLY see it. Anyway . . . it arrived; we clinked our glasses (spilling - AGAIN) as we did; then we all pretty much broke for the night. Yep - us old folk called it a night.

Now the New Year is in full swing. Appointments, sports, gatherings, birthdays, school, programs.

We are definitely hoping that medically, 2011 will hold better things for our family. Particularly Banshee. We are heading feet first into a slew of appointments at the pediatric hospitals and are hopeful they can figure out what is going on with her. We're hoping to have a repeat of the fantastic summer we had last year (great friends and gatherings); and I am hoping to sneak away on a trip this spring. Viva Las Vegas!!!!! I've got a HEAP of scrapbooking events planned (I'm SO spoiled that my other half is so easy-going about these events). I'm hoping to get out snowshoeing with my other half on a regular basis this winter, and I am hopeful that my other half and I can focus on US a little more this year. Now that the kids are getting older, we can put a little more into our relationship. While things with our relationship are great, our focus in the past many years have been the kids and their needs. They're definitely a top priority, but they're also a little more self-sufficient as well, and we are more able to do things together as a couple.

I also hope that all of my readers will have a great year too!!! And that we'll see more of you all!!!
